Context
Every new business use started from scratch: its own deployment, its own access management, its own update procedure. Field teams ended up with several unconnected applications, installed at different times, in different versions. And an update meant reaching every device, sometimes in areas where connection is not given. Access rights were managed application by application, so a practitioner leaving a site sometimes retained access no one had thought to revoke.
Challenge
Building a foundation carrying several applications without standardising them: each business use has its own requirements, and the foundation must serve them without imposing a single model. The connection constraint is structural: a healthcare application must work when the network drops and synchronise when it returns.
Objectives
- Design an application portal on the model of an app marketplace.
- Centralise deployment and updating of business applications.
- Manage access rights from one place, with immediate revocation.
- Make applications work offline, with automatic resumption.
- Carry appointment tracking and remote monitoring on that foundation.
