Swiss Watch Manufacture

A leading watch manufacture has a particular relationship with digital: everything visible must serve the house, and everything that does not must not exist. Discretion is not a preference but a rule.

Project Website, CRM and online salesSector Luxury & Watchmaking

Context

Standard e-commerce tools assume a logic of volume and conversion that contradicts a manufacture’s positioning: automatic suggestions, cart reminders, price comparisons. Each of these mechanisms, effective elsewhere, erodes the value of what is sold here. And the client relationship is built over a long period, through retailers and boutiques, not through a purchase funnel. Authenticity certificates for pieces in circulation lived in separate registers unlinked to the client holding them.

Challenge

Building a digital presence that extends a house without imitating it: digital must adopt the manufacture’s codes, not the reverse — and every commercial function must be judged on what it costs the image before what it earns. Piece traceability adds its own constraint: it must outlast any system.

Objectives

  • Design a site where every element is justifiable with regard to the house.
  • Structure the CRM around a long relationship, not a conversion cycle.
  • Open online sales without commercial pressure mechanisms.
  • Link authenticity registers to the clients holding the pieces.
  • Guarantee discretion in client data handling.

Exclusivity of positioning and the requirement of discretion governed every technical choice, from purchase journey to client data handling. A piece’s certificate is retrievable from the client holding it.
