Project Infrastructure and enterprise messagingSector Financial Services
Context
The infrastructure carried requirements few companies know: compartmentalisation between entities, retention of exchanges for regulatory purposes, and availability tolerating no maintenance window. Every change had to be assessed not on its functional benefit but on what it exposed — poorly compartmentalised access between two entities is a breach, not an inconvenience. Messaging logs served as evidence under audit, so their integrity mattered as much as their availability, and no supervision tool covered both.
Challenge
Evolving an infrastructure whose shutdown is excluded: migrations happen in service, switchovers without interruption, and every step must be reversible without loss of exchange. Compliance adds its own constraint — what is not recorded did not happen, and what is recorded must stay legible for years.
Objectives
- Assess the exposure of existing infrastructure and messaging.
- Compartmentalise access by entity and by function, with no bypass.
- Guarantee regulatory retention of exchanges and log integrity.
- Establish supervision covering both availability and security.
- Conduct changes without service interruption or loss of exchange.
Availability, compartmentalisation and compliance were the project’s first constraints, before any functional consideration. Logs are usable under audit, and changes are conducted in service rather than in a shutdown window.
