Project Website, customer portal and consumption reportingSector Energy
Context
Consumption was read in the field, recorded at the office, and billed in a third system. Between reading and invoice: several weeks and two re-entries. A subscriber wanting to know their consumption called, and the agent had to open several applications to answer. The technician noted interventions on paper and entered them at end of round — when the connection allowed. Customer service absorbed a volume of calls that available information would have prevented.
Challenge
Making consumption viewable by the subscriber requires it to be reliable at the moment of viewing — so field readings must feed billing directly, with no manual step between. And the technician’s application must work where there is no network, deferring upload without losing the entry.
Objectives
- Deliver a corporate site carrying the offer and regulatory information.
- Open a portal where subscribers view consumption, invoices and payments.
- Feed field meter readings directly into billing.
- Let technicians record interventions offline.
- Reduce call volume on information available online.
Field meter readings feed billing directly, and subscribers view their consumption without calling. The technician records the intervention at the delivery point, even without network, and upload happens on return.
